AC Not Cooling in Apopka? Start Here
A central AC system may run without producing comfortable indoor temperatures for several reasons. Basic observations can help a technician distinguish airflow restrictions, controls, drain issues, and equipment faults.
Describe what the system actually does
Is the thermostat calling for cooling? Does the indoor fan blow air? Is the outdoor unit operating? Note what changed and when.
Check the filter and vents safely
If the filter is accessible and safe to inspect, follow manufacturer recommendations. Make sure supply registers are not blocked by furniture.
Watch for condensate leaks
Wetness near the air handler is not normal. Continued water exposure may damage ceilings, flooring, or cabinets. Turn the system off if needed to limit damage.
Avoid unsafe troubleshooting
Do not open electrical cabinets, test capacitors, or handle refrigerant. AC equipment contains hazardous electrical components and specialized systems.
Prepare for a diagnostic call
Share thermostat settings, approximate indoor conditions, observed noises, error indications, and whether the problem began suddenly or gradually.
Before you hire
Describe the observed problem, request a written scope, and independently verify any necessary license, insurance, permits, and project terms.
